Happy Days Child Development Center’s language-rich curriculum is designed to promote independence, curiosity, decision-making, cooperation, persistence, creativity, and problem-solving. We differentiate our teaching by knowing how children grow and learn both typically and atypically in all domains of development, knowing that children learn the same concepts in multiple ways, and carefully observing each child to meet individual needs.
Happy Days uses the Creative Curriculum as a guideline for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. This popular curriculum helps teachers understand developmentally appropriate practice and how to create daily routines and meaningful experiences that respond to children’s strengths, interests, and needs.
We offer a wide variety or learning techniques that introduce children to their physical world, natural world, and social world. We explore these areas through music, art, outdoor play and learning activities.
Each age group has a daily routine schedule that is geared towards age appropriate activities and child’s growth and development.
A Well Balanced Approach
The following activities are an integral part of our program:
- Story Telling
- Music & Movement
- Art & Craft
- Dramatic Play / Sand Play / Dough Play / Block Play
- Manipulative Play / Role Play
- Creative Approach for Arithmetic and Science through well structured group and individual projects
Through the various types of play, we promote interaction and communication amongst children and their teachers.
The daily routine is a balance of structured and unstructured activities.
Besides the usual curriculum, the following activities are also conducted on a regular basis for your child's learning and enjoyment purposes.
· Fun with Cooking – In our cookery sessions, our children have the opportunity to experience hands-on basic cooking skills and learn about nutrition and the importance of a balanced diet. They also learn team spirit and math in a fun way as they "work" and learn in a team.

Your Infant's Day
The experiences infants have during the early months and years of life are crucial for healthy brain development. Lots of personal attention and interaction between our teachers and your infant will promote basic cognitive and social skills. Singing, reading and talking are just some of the behaviors that support development during this critical stage.
Physical development of coordinated motor skills is a large part of an infant's first year. Our development activities help build physical strength and motor coordination with daily experiences that allow infants to practice fine-motor skills, hand/eye coordination, hand and full body movement, and more.
Infants begin to use and integrate their senses right away to explore their new world. Through sense activities, children use one or more of their developing senses related to memory, spatial orientation, and cause and effect.
Language and communication development is most profound during a child's first three years of life while the brain is developing and maturing. Happy Days activities help develop skills in an environment rich with sounds, sights, and consistent exposure to speech and language.
Feelings of confidence, pride, trust, friendship, and humor are all part of social-emotional development. Making Friends activities promote early social interactions and conversations, develop facial expressions to communicate, and support self-identity.
It is a whole new world when babies take to their feet. They walk, they talk, and they begin to develop relationships with each other. Your toddler has so many things he or she wants to see and do, and we'll be there to guide your child every step of the way.
Toddlers learn through sensory experiences that enhance their cognitive, language, motor and social skills. They turn ideas into words and phrases to better express themselves, and practice the value of sharing and cooperating through group play. Children at this stage start to develop friendships and gain confidence as they use their words and thoughts to interact with others. It is important for children to express themselves creatively and, through our Early Foundations® Toddlers program, we encourage all children to develop their unique skills and interests.

Your Toddler's Day
Happy Days toddler-specific curriculum enables your child to grow in confidence and learn to walk tall in their new world.
Toddlers are naturally curious and want to explore the world around them. We have designed our classrooms and equipment to support safe exploration so your child has room to discover, build motor skills, and improve coordination. Activities focus on experimenting with space to develop balance, hand/eye coordination, participation in creative movements to music, and more.
Toddlers need an environment that is interesting to explore, safe, and filled with caring teachers who respond to their emotional and intellectual needs. Our program offers children a variety of fun, stimulating activities, such as matching and sorting, exploring colors, counting, and categorizing objects.
A foundation for reading success begins as early as the first few months of life. Introducing toddlers to books and language nourishes early literacy development. Toddlers focus on first words and phrases, vocabulary development, following simple directions, and identifying and naming familiar items.
Exploring art materials and experiencing music, dance, and drama enrich the classroom. Our experienced teachers reinforce important developmental objectives through these creative, fun experiences. Creative Arts activities are designed to introduce toddlers to cause and effect, self-expression through art and music, and taking on pretend roles.
As toddlers learn more about themselves and their abilities, they become aware of their social setting. With frequent opportunities for group experiences, they gain an awareness of others and a sense of group identity. Daily group-time incorporates a number of activities, such as songs, games, stories, and more.
Bright classrooms and large playgrounds create the backdrop for your child's preschool educational success.
